If you don't have it, you should get it right away! :grumpy: Especially if you're getting depressed from seeing a lot of angsty, dark, sad Anime! It's happy and fun without being over-the-top cutesy, and it sends a good message, and it's just wonderful! ^_^

Drop Naruto for Full Metal Alchemist.

FMA is superior in almost every way and any praise you hear of it is well deserved. It is probably the best (new) series of 2000, honestly, I'm not exaggeraing.

The series doesn't get morbidlly dark or anything. It's just that, it pulls at your heart strings. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows, and it reminds you of that.

Okay, I get it. It does tug at the ol' heartstrings once and a while, so I can understand that.

I can't decide whether I like the Anime or the manga better yet. I haven't finished either yet, so I'm still undecided... :unsure:

You're right; I love how Fruits Basket is happy and optimistic without overdoing it. It still sends a powerful message, and it reminds you that there are sadder, darker things out there.

Yeah, I've found that manga is often better than the Anime.

Here's how I think of it:

See, the sandwich on the left only has a little meat (That's the pink line in between the two brown lines.). That sandwich is the Anime one. The sandwich on the right has a lot of meat; the manga one.

Simply put, the analogy goes like this: "The manga is 'meatier' than the Anime." Generally, there's more to the manga, more stuff is explained, etc.

Most likely, nothing you've heard but here goes...

MaiHime - Very good quickly paced series, one of the best of the years and probably a personal favorite overall.

Bleach - Remains mildly entertaining as it always did. Though it really pales in comparison to the manga.

Kannaduki no Miko - Cool art, nice intro on the opening. Lame ass mechs.

Galaxy Angel Season IV - A thousand times better than Season III, so far it kicks ass.

Beck - Only seen snippets, I've been thinking of looking into this but... ehh we'll see.

Rozen Maiden - Also thinking about looking into this...

Ultimate Girls - Power Rangers on viagra, pretty much sums up the series and my reaction to it.

Mahou Sensai Negima - Or something like that. It sucks. Badly. Low quality art, animation, and everything. All the characters are pretty much different flavored tits. I'm not going to continue watching this.

Xenosaga - Meh animation, ugly art. Still, it intrigues me. The game looks awesome (with a ****ing kick ass title) so I'll keep my eye on it.

A)PS2 is only $150 (for a brand new one)

B)I got a good copy of Xenosaga for $12

andC) It aint worth it, 90% of the game is cinema, and the times when it isnt cinematic, its reaaaaaaaallllly dull, what with the lack of a decent upgrade/battle system

Well...A friend recently got me watching Bleach, and the next thing I know, we just finish the Soul Society arc...Which pretty much means I like it XD ( I wouldn't have watched those 60 some episodes if I didn't)

Just because you do not like, does not give you a right to define it as ****, except Naruto. No one likes that Anime. I used to be a fan of bleach, untill it sucked hard.
Same with Pokemon, although I still play Pokemon Stadium, and watch the first series over and over.
Dragonball/Z/that other one, is the only Series I have yet to finish watching.

Pokemon, the first season was one of the best, honestly. As for Naruto, that's really kiddy.

After rewatching alot of my old regulars, I've come to put Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo pretty high on my list (coincidentially enough they both had the main characters voiced by Steven J. Blum)

Of recent times, I've come to love Afro Samurai for pretty much everything it is: A short-but-sweet action anime telling a story of vengeance, redemption, perspective, and a sense of character study. Its essentially bonafide samurai material.

The concept of Afro's sidekick, Ninja Ninja, confused me a bit at first too, but when I did finally get it, I felt the only thing keeping him any less real from anyone else in the series was the fact that only Afro could see him. Despite the fact that he talked the 90% of the time Afro didn't, I don't think I'd ever call him annoying.

The atmosphere I thought would be similar to Samurai Champloo turned out to be barely at best like it. Both make use of a stylized, high-contrast art-style (Afro Samurai arguably moreso), but Afro Samurai takes its elements an doesn't give us anything unnecessary to deepen it for the sake of entertainment (i.e., Afro Samurai has not a trace of a filler episode--everything in the five episodes is to establish what it was that brought Afro to where he is, and why he's ultimately the one responsible for it all), but that's pretty much about it. Afro's character is the barebones stoic anti-hero who makes his place without his words. The mix of sci-fi with feudal Japan is a concept that sounds far-fetched (to be lenient), but in the end, the series proves that execution of a concept matters FAR more than just the bare concept itself.

I also love the art style myself. I've been one to enjoy artistic directions that go for a stylistic semi-exagerrated look, as I just think it's a more honest and defining expression of art than making something with a more naturalistic look to it for the sake of realism.
