Tsubasa/ xxxHOLiC manga

I absolutely love these two manga, I really like the artwork and stuff but that's just the surface! The story is great!

Yup, everything done by Clamp is awesome, also both stories parallel at some point so is incredible see how they see that point of the story in their own place.


I love XXXholic, but I liked Tsubasa more...maybe because it has more bishonens, also that may be because if you are big fan of Clamps you can see that some of their other characters also make apparitions in Tsubasa.

I'm not a particular fan of Clamp's work (but I'm a guy, and Clamp is aimed towards girls. Plus, I've only really read Chobits, so...). It is very good, but just not to my taste. I read an exerpt from xxxHOLiC and loved it. Next chance I get, I'm buying the volumes.

Though Clamp are named the "Shoujo queens" and most of their stories are shoujo it doesn't mean that it can be read only by girls, also XXX/Holic and Tsubasa have totally different (and much simpler) drawings than the usual Clamp-style because Clamp decided to take a twist and write shounen...


Who would have guessed that they even rock at making shounen manga?

Angelic Layer was run in a Shonen mag, as well as Chobits. But I took a peek at Gohou Drug and I want to buy it along with Tsubasa #3. ^.^ Fai-san!

Also, a xxxHOLiC movie is scheduled to be released next year. *dance*

I went to the store the other day and found they had only volumes 2 & 3 of xxxHOLiC. then I went to a bookstore and they had all three. I got money from my dad today, so I'm going to get volumes 1 & 2. WHOOT!!!

I found the second volume of Tsubasa to be rather bland and boring. The first opened to interesting possibilities, and well, the use of many CLAMP charecters. The second volume didn't really further that, it just added a bunch of stuff just for the sake of having it. The fights were also meaningless essentially and could've been skipped over for the most part.

I'm still looking forward to see how this will unfold so it will be more than just a bunch of random CLAMP charecters put together (minus gag, of course).

XXXholic however looks great, the preview I saw at least.

dude, xxxHOLiC vol. 3 is really grim, but really cool.

Personally, I think the purpose of Tsubasa is just for CLAMP to have fun drawing their previous characters in a different aspect, like Syaoran and Sakura and Mokona from their more popular works and in xxxHOLiC, they mention Clow Reed and the Mokonas and the drugstore from Gohou Drug. Honestly, all CLAMP work is about fun, and they do a very good job with it.

Chobits was hilarious. I'm actually starting to like Clamp a lot more. Earlier I just wasn't paying attention, but now that I read Chobits vol. 1 through again, I realize just how awesome it is. Again, I can't wait to get xxxHOLiC.

Well, I'm getting xxxHOLiC tomorrow, and I know I'm getting anoying, but whatever. Vol. 3 of .hack://LEGEND OF THE TWILIGHT came out today, I can't wait to get it. I'm just sad that it's the last volume... :(

GD: I haven't had the time nor the monetary funds to pick up Tokyo Babylon nor Clamp Gakkuen Tanteidan and have a good read, but they'll grace my bookshelf in the near future (FREAKING JANUARY FOR xxxHOLiC #4 and February for Tsubasa #4! Gahhhh!). But I have read some of X/1999, and I do enjoy it, you really wouldn't CLAMP to be so grim somtimes, but I still love it. (On the character test, I was Sorata)

I highly recommend it to you then, because I own Clamp Gakkuen and Tokyo Babylon and they both go to the cutest side of Clamp to the most goric and sad. And yup, X is great, XD, goric but is still a piece of art, flawless drawings.....so good, although sometimes when it gets way too depressing you feel like throwing it out.....
