Beserk Manga

I need to rearrange my top ten lists for best mangas. Seriously, Beserk is ****ing orgasmically good.

However it is not for the faint of heart ot the stingy of morals. The world of Beserk is a bleak and dreary world full of carnage, gore, death, blood, religous opressers, and lot's of nonconsensual sex/rape.

It starts as semi-amusing... fairly normal. But, like most manga, it only gets better as you go on. Before you know it you're on Vol. 20 and realize how thick and complicated everything as begun. You also realize how amazingly epic it is.

I think it was around Vols. 23-25 is when they first started to actually INTRODUCE magic.

As I said before, there is a lot of blood and gore.

And for me, a more disturbing factor, is the sheer amount of rape and nonconsensual sex in it. It's true, soldiers did rape the women and pillage the land. However, in the manga, there are also... demons... who... also... yeah...

But it is truly a beautiful manga worthy of all the praise you hear of it. Don't simply read the first volume and put it down as crap. There's 27+ so far with no end it sight. You might as well watch the credits of the movie and judge it then.

Get bittorent and get it. The first four volumes are liscened so go out and buy it you money grubbing whores.

And this time, downloading is good. The more people downloading the faster it goes, which is very very good in Beserk's case because 27 volumes worth of manga is a lot of data... 1.4 gigs to be specific.

Well, if a little boy should come upon this, he'll have discovered the best manga ever. I really wish they'd bring theentire series over faster... it's tedious to read it on the computer.

Note*: Beserk is a very mature manga with some mature and even disturbing things. This is your final and only warning. So, do not bitch at me.

The whole Retribution Arc was rather... confusing (I think that's what it's called, the one where Griffith gets reborn).

However I think I understand... still, it is not my favorite part.

Though, I rather like Farnese (bleh, names are cool but it's so hard to spell some of them). At first she was a bitch, but when she started going insane and becoming a sexual freak she became a lot more interesting. Plus, I love her expressions of insanity from when she was a child.

Knights of the Holy Chains, or something like that, were, frankly, pussies. When they were first introduced, on the trail of Gatts/Guts, I thought they would be strong. I mean, they look nice and all. So now I got to thinking, "Hell yeah, time for some kickass goodguys to come along."

However, they were a joke at best. After reading the part about the Eclipse, how great and awesome the Band of Hawks was, it was very dissapointing to see this bumbling group come along. I was glad when the attention started to focus on Farnese and her perverted fetishes.

Serpico is cool. His name is cool. He looks cool. It's about bloody time we got a cool male charecter. Gatts/Guts is cool, but in a massive "Jesus **** on a pogo stick". Serpico has charm, elegance, and well, is more light hearted. Not only that, he's also dangerously deceptive and powerful, not to mention loyal. However I have a nagging feeling he's going to die.

Puck is great. He makes it so the manga doesn't seem so dark and depressing. Also, he's cute. Aww, come on, how can you not love his... ergh... whatever attack...thing...yeah.

Caska got totally screwed. Literally. I hope she becomes mentally stable again. But then again, it takes years of therapy to get over rape. I can't imagine how much it would take to get over the fact that hundreds of demons raped her.

The kid(forgot his name_ is... annoying. He's ok at times, not too badly annoying. Still, it would be nice to see him piss his pants or something. He's just... too trobulesome I suppose. But he is not in any way a bad charecter (I don't think there are really any in Beserk who annoy me).

Silke... is her name right? The witch? She's cute. She's got the wise small girl thing going. A nice addition I think. Plus, she's very intelligent and doesn't **** up. I like that, how most Beserk charecters (well, minus the minor ones) don't go off and **** themselves over with dumbass descisions.

Gatts/Guts is the same, an awesome charecter, though less pussy than before and more... well, beserk. Still though, all it seems he does is hack and slash over and over and over again. I get the idea that he's constantly tormented and has to deal with them, but the artist doesn't have to pile panel upon panel of it. (I don't mind it, it's just when he puts so many minor things like small battles from ghosts so many times.) I'm glad though they didn't spend too much time on his childhood stuff, it just bugged. Gambino was a jackass, get over it.

Femto... Femto... he could look cooler. Less muscle, more decrepit corpse with angel wings. Still, a nice addition, plus the first thing he did was rape Caska. That's a plus... kind of.

Griffith... looks A LOT better. Early on he was just... well, creepy looking. Now he's got wicked armor and just so much more badass. I never really liked him though, he... disturbs me, on a small extent.

Godhand... do something godly dammit. All they do is sit back and look pimp. Femto, Void, and Slan are all kickass. The other two however... meh, they just don't seem so godly to me. We'll see...

Slan... she deserves her own mention. She looks AMAZING in the trailer (even if it's just a two second shot). Still, she hasn't done too much yet... come on, she got the BEST entrance out of all the Godhand, the longest too.

The Kushan... they're jackasses. Blah. The emporer is a jackass. Can't wait 'till Griffith comes riding in and skewers his penis.

Giffith's knights... are all so ****ing cool. Before them, most knights were just stupid pussies that fell towards the superior Kushan troops. However... these guys are ****ing badass. Can't wait to see more of them.

Skull Knight is ****ing awesome, nice new sword too. Why do I like him so much. He's a badass strong charecter for the good side, for once. I mean, notice how usually the bad guys have such strong people... and the good guys always have to 'struggle' and shit to become stronger. Or, there's one experienced good guy who just sits back and bitches. Skull Knight get's his hands dirty and blazes through. Plus, it takes some balls to try to take on the Godhand.

Let's see.... here's my take on the characters and such...

With the Retribution Arc, I assume is the one about the heretics and witch burnings and such. I thought it was awesome, and would be my favorte if it weren't for the Golden Age part (The Band of the Hawk) and I mostly like that Arc simply because of Judeau. :looove:

Most of these relatively new characters (I'm talking about the one's Gats has met and now they're following him) I really don't like all that much. I just love The Hawks too much. =O

I orgasm whenever I see the Godhand. Period. Or Zodd or Skullknight for that matter.

Band of Hawks members were ok, but they were... well, bland I suppose. 'cept Judeau, he's cool. I thought he would have survived the apocalypse but...

Serpico is one of the two only people in the Knights of the Holy Chains capable of even defending himself. He attempted to take on Gatts, but failed and realized it's not too wise... but he cares so much about Farnese that he would still try anyways if she died. Note, he says try. He's very unsure of himself.

Luka/Luca is the leader of the hookers. She's awesome because she keeps relatively calm, instead of ****ing out and making an ass of herself to only make matters worse.

I think the author said that this is the end of the 'beggining arc'.

Skull Knight is King Gaiseric.

Farneze tries to rape Guts and sits on his sword. That was cool.

Griffith gets his body back.

Guts gets owned by Grunbeld.

Guts gets the Berserk armor and owns Grunbeld.

The king wants to rape his daughter, but Griffith nailed her first, which is why he was thrown in jail.

Void needs to see a dentist. Bad.

Slain is made of intestines. But she's still hawt.

Corkus is gay.

Pippin's spine is ripped out.

Void still needs a dentist.

Serpico has no eyes. Sort of. Shut up.

Schierke's mentor dies a horribly violent death.

Skull Knight eats Behelits and uses them to create a dimension-tearing sword. Looks cool. He keeps it in his throat.

Trolls have big noses.

Void still needs a dentist.

The mangled corpses of the old Band of the Hawk are buried in the Hill of Swords. On that very spot, Guts fights Zodd, gets owned, again, and Griffith is reborn. Again. Except he's not Batman this time.

By the way, Berserk sucks.

Ah yes, the 'lost chapter' you're talking about was included in the dl so yes I've read it (the one where Griffith talks with Idea, right?).

Anyones, something someone else noticed...

In the Flashback Arc, where Griffith is ordering Guts/Gatts to assassinate the noble, Giffith hands Guts/Gatts the Karma Sutra (or something like it). Notice, one of the positions is the exact same as when Femto rapes Caska as Guts/Gatts is losing is eye.

Humor, or some kind of foreshadowing?

Because really, it's the last thing Guts/Gatts saw with his right eye.

Just go back and look at the Flashback Arc when Griffith hands Guts the Karma Sutra as he's ordering Guts to assassinate the Noble (this was a little bit before Griffith had his way with the princess) and look at when Guts loses his eye in the Eclipse.

The positions in the Karma Sutra and in the Eclipse, when Caska is being raped, are the same.

Other people have confirmed this but I haven't personally, but I can't really post pictures to confirm it either...

Gutts is the only human who can take on apostales. Farnese, Caska, the kid (Isodori?) are all useless.

Serpico might be useful in battle, because he's cunning and plans ahead (he's pretty Griffith-esque to me) but all in all he'd only be able to take on weaker apostales, nothing like Zodd or Grunbeld.

The only allies worthy to Gutts is Skullknight, Shcrierke, and Puck (healing).

Even if Caska were sane again she would NOT be able to take on apostales.
