Who here has seen this anime? I saw the japanese one, and also read the manga I personally think this is a very well made anime, not only the story but the characters as well.
If you have seen this anime who's your favourite character?
I really like Alphonse Elric.

I saw the first ep (In full, unedited American form) at an anime convention a while back. I thought it kicked much ass. One of the few things I love about this city: We live not twenty minutes away from Funi's home base, where they do all the voice overs and things. So very awesome.

That's cool! My friend is going to Japan sometime in December and she's going to get me all the rest of the episodes even though it's going to be airing on Adult Swim soon I want to see the rest to 51 before its here.
Who's your favourite character so far?

So far, the Fullmetal alchemist. I can't remember his name... He was cool though. Holy crap, at the anime con, the leader was cosplaying as him! Nobody knew it until after the show, and we were like "Woah, you're ______! I can't believe it!"
I just wish I had cable so I could watch the whole thing... I'll buy the DVDs when they come out in January (such a long time, though...)
Oh yeah, today's your birthday, isn't it?

You forgot your own b-day?! Wow. That's like the biggest day of the year for me. Well, happy birthday anyway!
What happens later on in the series?

A lot of things, so many sad things, funny moments, kodak moments (who doesn't like those) mostly about how close they get to the Philosifers (doens't know how to spell that) and many freaky things they find out about how it's made.

I saw the trailer of the movie on Adult Swim, so I'm watching it Saturday, or if I don't see it that day, any other day it happens to come up...
But it looks cool, specially when the boy (uuhhhhh dunno his name...) starts fighting all the bad guys lol...

Must be Ed again. XD
I love that anime!!! Thank god is becoming more popular, I just today finished buying the last 20 episodes and I can't wait to see them, XD, my favorite character is definitly Edward Elric, he looks cool even when beating up a guy for calling him "shortie". Alphonse is so sweet and cute....(side effects of having no body?) sometimes it feels like he is the older brother, so mature.....but Hughes, XD, that is one hilarious crackpot fella, someday I fear that Roy Mustang will kill him.

I know what happens in all the episodes to 51 and the movie....Hughes is amazing he is just freakin hillarious! I don't know why I just kinda like Al...meaby because of the fact he has to live with no body? Don't know but Roy is awsome too snap and your gone ^_^

I went to my cousin's houe the other day. She had cable. I saw a comercial for FA. I watched with anticipation, and what happens? It's the first episode. The one time I have access to cable tv, it has to be the ep I've already seen.
Surprisingly enough, they only cut out one bit, when Alphonse' body is all...inside out and stuff.
I was surprised also to find out that Square Enix funds the anime. Very interesting.

You have already seen the movie? Weird, I thought it was out later of this year, or perhaps the next...anyway, how?
Damn, I have watched the 50 episodes and only 1 is left, this anime passes so damn fast!!! But is sooo worth of watching, seriously, watch it even though they censor it.
But yeah, surprising that they only censored that, are you sure that Al turns inside out? What about when we see leg-less Ed?
Yup, Al is pretty cute, I don't know if it has to do with that he has no body or not, but is so cute that he loves to pick up stray cats and try to raise them inside his body. XD

I think I cried at that part where that one guy begins to finally piece things together. You know, the guy who has the wife and daughter... and the girl comes over and plays with them... and the mangaka really builds things up by making introducing his family, and then Lust comes along and kills him (despite him putting up a fight).

But it also happens in the anime, I won't say in which episode so it's a surprise. :P
AW DAMN!!! That was probably the saddest, best, most intriguing episode of FullMetal ever, the author really did build a likeable character and then killed him...I never thought he would die first, probably Roy, some Homunculi or Ed's master, he was like the friendly guy that was the voice of reason for the Elric brothers, aside from all the drama and bad things happening he was always a ray of sunshines, and a huge comical-relief. ;.;

Man, up to chapter... 30 by now?
I love the chemistry between the characters, this manga is seriously awesome, definatly top ten list.
I gotta say though, the President is BADASS. I mean, not in a good guy way, but he's just way to badass. Also, I'm delighted by the amount of blood and gore (not in that way, ergh, let me explain). Despite it's looks and comedy, the manga is very touching and serious and such injuries only add to brutality of some of the... darker aspects of the manga.
Still, the site you gave me is s-l-o-w. Isn't there some kind of torrent for the manga? (And the anime...)
I really want to see the anime too.

Which site do you mean? "www.fullmetal-achemist.com" or "www.anime-source.com"? Both work perfectly to me (and there will be a new chapter in the latter in 7 days!!!), but since I don't know how to use bitorrent I hardly know any anime sites that use it, but I think that some sites like Atu, Johou and Anime-keep did Fullmetal, so you perhaps you could type them in google and see if they still have Fullmetal.
And so far in the manga as I have seen it is in chapter 42, but I think I read somewhere the author wants to do the manga for another year or so, more Fullmetal!!! Yay!
The Fuhrer? Perhaps is only his rough look, eyepatch and eye only makes him look like that...but okay, he does looks evil but he is the lesser of the evils in my oppinion, although he did take a nation's alchemy skills to war. But yeah, the anime at times (and the manga) has so many goric moments that build up to a perfect drama time that is so good, though there wasn't blood in this scene, still the part where Lust scratches off number 48's blood seal freaks me out the most. O_O;

[Spoilers]
The first site.
About the president, it's not that it's just... well, the military people are the 'good guys' (I use the term loosely because the manga does a good job and blurring the lines between good and bad) right? And so, it was just a shock to see him be so... ruthless and merciless like that, but in a good way. I liked that, because the 'good guys' aren't always good and the 'bad guys' aren't always bad. I guess it's just because I've seen too many well... 'good guys' who are too nice, spare opponents, etc. Then the president comes in and he's just... badass.
And bittorent is extremely simple to use, a chimp can. Click the link, pick a spot to where it goes, done. Save the link so you can open it again the next day after.
And what I meant was a site with a torrent for the manga, so I can get a large chunk at once, instead of waiting ~30 min. for a chapter (which may be corrupted or have errors).
Anyways I hope to see the anime real soon (no cable for me though), because I have heard many good things about them. Who knows, it might even kick MaiHime out of my heart (hahaha... not really).
Still, FMA is such an awesome creation that it makes me glad I'm into manga and anime. It's just one of those series that's... not the same old generic rehashed crap you're used to seeing.
And on the gore part... the scene where it flashes back to the two brothers trying to bring back their mother, it really adds to the painful effect, especially that one frame of him missing a leg. It might be because I just like my gore, but it's a good touch that makes it feel more... realistically brutal I guess, something you don't expect from such mild drawings.

I love this anime, it is of high quality. Great art, awesome story, loveable characters, and a very nice soundtrack makes for a superb anime. I've watched about 37 episodes of the fansub, and a couple of the dub. I prefer the fansub, but the dub is also pretty good, though.
Hughes is so awesome. XD

Someone tell me why the hell I keep watching this anime.
Storyline is great and it's anime I'll watch it. But yet it horrifies me. I'm surprised I don't have nightmare's from Saturday's episode where that guy uses his own daughter and loveable dog to make a talking Chimera. O.O AND THEN Big Tattoo guy comes along and "deconstructs" it and leaves what looks like charred meat there on the wall. O.O This is scarred into my brain. >.< Then there's the episode when they try to bring back their mother, but really didn't see a whole lot of that.
It's frightening....I can't decide if I still want to watch it. :( Maybe, I still prefer the animes in which rainbows make everything better.... But, seriously, tell me it gets better....with less meat byproducts splattered everywhere....>.< *Cowers with blankey.*

I have liked this anime (and manga) for a very long while I think this truly is a masterpiece for the fact that it is not all daisies and butterflies (thinks she spelled daisies wrong but doesn't care) since it has it's funny parts, it's serious parts, parts where you just wanna hide and come back later when thats over, and parts where you just plainly want to attack the tv. The characters are very well made and the plot is great. (9.9 stars from my book) And I must say it's an anime that if you like it your hooked...
(but seriously the part where Al tries to keep the cat and starts running away with it is hilarious poor kitty ^^; )
