Thanks, and a Reed is something that one would use to blow in an oboe or a bassoon, whatever instrument of the sort. IT can play songs by hitting the desired pitch by the intensity of the blow, but it is a silly sound. However, it sound good when being played with the flight of the bumble bee. Let me warn you though, I'm only talking about playing the reed by itself.

It was in the interview with Koji Kondo. We just don't know what instrument it is. He did however say he was intrigued by the cello. So you never know....

It's really a matter of opinion. They could have us use the microphone for it. This is where they could actually put lyrics into the music, which would be an outstanding inovation to the series.

His hawk is his friend/pet/servant.
The hawk grass might be placed in only certain areas, so Link cannot always use the hawk. as for the horse grass...I wonder how much of that there is in the game.

Well, it knocked down a beehive. (The hive had rupees in it) I would say that it might be used in open dungeons, you know, ones without ceilings. Then you could use it to reach stuff.
The hawk can be explained by this equation:
